Should Rashad go to 265, or to 185?

Since Jon Jones is getting the title shot, and Rashad says he will not fight Jones, he decided that he would either move up back to heavyweight, or down to 185.

Which weight class makes more sense for Rashad?

Personally I think he should consider 185. He used to fight at heavyweight but clearly he is not really that big. And he is not that tall either and with some strict dieting I bet he could get down to 185. It would make for some new and exciting middleweight matchups also.

I read that Rashad wants to move back up to heavyweight, but I'm beginning to wonder if he understands just how much the heavyweight division has changed since he fought there.  I just can't really see Rashad being successful there.
I never wanted him to move down to middleweight either because he's done great at light heavyweight.  If Jones does take the title though, it would definitely be best for him to move down because I know he wants to compete for a title and the heavyweight title is out of his reach I think.  Rashad would instantly become a top contender in the middleweight division.

I think he should stay at 205. He's perfect there.

I think he could make 185 pretty easy with a nutritionist, Rashad's been the smaller guy in most of his LHW fights and doesn't cut much like Rich Franklin, if anything he too would benefit from a 195lb weight class like Rich instead of being stuck in the middle.

I could see him going to 185 once Silva is gone. I think Alan Belcher will be good here shortly.. but it is a weak division where he can go and use that speed and strength he has to overwhelm people.

He does not have very powerful hands in the LHW division but in middleweight he will be used to taking shots from bigger guys and I think would do very well.

If he can make it down to 185 then I think that would be a great weight class for him.  He's a quick, agile fighter, so I don't think he'd be the slower guy even though he's fighting smaller opponents than he's used to.  He'd obviously be a strong opponent at the lighter class as well.

@BeatMaster Your correct, i think he will stay in the 205 weight class for the time being and take at least 1 more fight. Jonny Bones has to beat Shogun for this to even be a real situation. And according to mmaweekly he will fight at 205 at the latest in May (http://mmaweekly.com/rashad-evans-could-return-as-early-as-may-likely-as-light-heavyweight).
But to continue playing the devils advocate, i think MW would be more realistic than HW, i think it would require a lot of cut, but who knows we've seen crazier cuts before, hes not the tallest LHW anyway.

I think he should stay at 205 "Bones" is going to grow into his "man body" son and move up to HWY but if he moves he should go down instead of up. Too small for the better HWY.

I agree with everyone here about Rashad going down to MW, He would definitely make a good statement at that weight, and can easily ask for a title shot quickly. Also he really is a small LHW already seeing as he's only 5'11. Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg have also extensively discussed Rashad going down to MW because it does look like his frame would definitely make it to 185. for ksturdiv I think your right Jon Jones hasen't come into his man body yet but I don't think even he will be a huge HW and probably won't move up until he absolutely can't make the cut, by which time he'll probably retire anyway

I want Rashad to go up to HW for just one reason so he gets ripped in half by either lesnar or carwin. Other than my personal beef with Evans I gotta say he would do best at MW.

Like Dana White said though Rashad has too many friends in both the MW and HW divisions...gonna be a mess if he goes down and won't fight Nate or GSP (if he gets past Shields) and at HW he won't fight Carwin or Schaub (If Schaub gets to contender status)

@kokid I've never been in the spot other then in football...and I'm all for going against friends...if you're not professional enough to go against a friend and still be friends with them after then why train with someone near your weight?

Completely agree man...I have a teammate/friend with the semi-pro football team I play on that is an amateur fighter and I am looking to do a little fighting as well...if it comes up for us to fight we'll do what we have to in the ring and go have a few drinks together after...We've already discussed it

Not sure Bones could fight at 185.
