So after watching ufc 126 on the weekend I must say, Forrest vs. Rich was an amazing fight that no one really gushed about but was seriously a fight of the night if they had fought in any other fight card. This was so amazing with such a good grappling match there was like 3 different reversals in the third alone. Forrest has definetly earned his spot as a fan favourite as Rich has as well. And really humble to boot, i mean all he said after he had a unanimous decision was that he was rusty, rusty. Good man and i'm definetly proud to be a forrest fan

Well like I said would have been if it was in another even but it had way too much competition in this event.

It was good, but i think Cerrone/Kelly was more deserving. Ceronne was back to his old deeds and off to a super slow start. He took some nice shots from Kelly and did exactly what i thought he would by submitting him. Had rich's corner put more urgency into his mind, i think it could've been FOTN, but they kept telling him it was 1-1 and he was doing great. I didn't see it that way, i thought he was being beat easily in all aspects of the game. I'd like to look at the Fight Metric because it seemed that Forrest was landing alot more on the feet.

Mike Brown is an interesting matchup but I feel badly for Mike Brown... I think Omigawa takes it.

it would be a good test to see how Brown bounces back against a top ten opponent. i still believe he has some fight in him. im sure omigawa will make it difficult for him. a win over a former champ would still look good on his record.

I think Brown almost needs a gimme to keep his career alive, he just lost to Yahya who wasn't top 10, i wish he could return to his top form. I'd hate to see him give up the sport, which is what he's stated he might do if he gets cut from the UFC.

I think Mendes is the most serious threat to Jose Aldo right now, but they could give him 1 more fight at UFC 130 or 131 perhaps. Put him against Nunes or Poirier.
Or perhaps they match him up with Kenny Florian and slot the winner in for a title shot after that. The pieces are still falling into place in this division, so I don't have a problem with guys being rushed into quick title shots.

Personally I can't see Florian or Tyson cutting down to 145 to fight, but least of all tyson. I mean those tree trunks he's got for legs will definetly give him a hard time to cut weight. Florian is the complete opposite in that he already looks so gaunt and skeletal like at 155. Though Florian is a warrior and he'd do whatever he could to get down there. If both of them made it to 145 what about those two fighting each other for the no. 1 contender status? I mean it would give both of them the chance to feel comfortable at the weight as well.

I don't think Tyson and Florian cutting down and fighting each other for #1 contender status as being very fair for the rest of the division. I think you've got to pit them each separately against someone else who has been established in that weight class first. Then if they both win, it would make sense to put them against one another, and the winner of that fight could fight for the title.
