Im asking this because as alot of you may have noticed. Wanderlei Silva is and always has been my favorite, I realize some people have different opinions on the guy but thats not what I want to discuss.

just wanna know what you guys as fans of the sport and maybe even fans of Wanderlei think happens if 'The Axe Murderer' can pull through here.

Would you like to see him retire or would you like to see him keep going?

I really dont care what Wanderlei decides to do after this fight. I would love to see him fight for longer but if he needs to hang em' up then let him. But I strongly believe that if he can win this fight in impressive fashion then he still has PLENTY of fight left in him and could possibly make 1 more run for the title..

Thoughts?

I'm ******* hoping with 100% of my heart that Wand will win...but their first fight and Wand's durability now scares me. Wand will be great on TUF though, he's a great guy but still has that pitbull switch and can get crazy.

He can still win fights and is dangerous, but realistically I don't think he's anything near what he once was.  His body seems to have taken a lot of punishment, as has his chin.   He's got a shot at beating Vitor but I don't think he'll contend for the title again.

I would love it if wand beat vitor, then anderson then retired.  I don't really want either fight to happen as i hate seeing my favourite fighter lose, but I'm always hoping for him.

I think he will make his decision on how this fight goes for him if its like the Leben fight I would say retire if its a war and he does well but still loses he should still fight and if he wins he should keep going but I don't want him to end up like Chuck getting Knocked out every fight in brutal fashion.

Like Ive advocated in maybe one of my inaugural posts; The older and well known the fighter, the easier a title should be. Wandy is one of the most respected fighters, and with wins over Cung Le, Bisping, and Belfort, that warrants a title shot.

Could you imagine the hype of Silva vs Silva?

I think he'd be wise to retire from a decent win in his last fight with Cung Le. Vitor is in his prime and I just can't see Wanderlei winning at this point. If he did it'd be about as big a shocker as Tito Ortiz beating Jon Jones which Tito will never get the chance to do.

I would love to see Wandy win, but I just don't see it happening.

If he beat Vitor, i don't know what i would do. That'd be cool as hell though.

I think he has a good chance to win, but I dont think he will, After the fight he should retire, all he is doing now is tarnishing his name, he really should have retired after the fight with Chuck IMO

Idk, Vitor mauled Johnson and hasn't really showed much sign of slowing down, while Wanderlei has.  Both guys are great to their fans and I have a lot of respect for them both but I think the wiser pick would be Vitor to win it.

Why in the world did i get 3 thumbs down for pointing out something everyone is thinking.
Wandy was a great fighter but his time is up and we all know it. I honestly still haven't bought into the Vitor being a top 5 MW yet but he for sure will be able to put Wandy away.
If you wanna give me down thumbs then go right ahead but we all know it's the truth.

@justyn is ballzy, and sticking to an opinion thats unpopular gets him an up arrow.

now, wandy probably wont win, and i suspect it'll be ugly...but there's always hope that wandy will get a flash ko and ride off into the retirement sunset
