Riddle in response to Dana calling him a moron

He’s calling me a moron for using my medicine when half his fighters are on steroids. It’s pretty offensive, but at the same time, I am looking at the source, and he can’t help himself.”

Hurts to say this but Riddle has a point.

When history of MMA is written DFW will go down just like bud selig will.  DFW, liar, two-faced and a degenerate gambler who can't pay his markers and then throws a hissy fit to the owners of the Palms(the Maloofs) who ae richer then the Fertitta's and moves his TUF Finale to the new hard rock venue. i hate to tell you this dana but the people who own and run the Hard Rock hotel and casino are  happy to sue you too when you screw up again so enjoy your short time there.

I've sided with Matt Riddle this whole time and I agree with him 100% on this.  It is pretty ridiculous that Herman can be caught twice, not have a license, and be on a three fight losing streak while still keeping his job.  Pretty sick of Dana as well.  Calling Riddle a moron after firing him was unwarranted.  Glad Riddle is at least free to speak his mind about him now.

I believe it was more about the beating his kids comment.Which was clearly just a joke.The UFC needs to lighten up.I get how it could be bad for buisness with media though "UFC Fighter would beat his children if not for using drugs" is not a good headline.As a big fan,This really upset me.I watched Riddle progress into a very good fighter and he ends up getting cut for something stupid.

These people are in a public spotlight all the ******* time. MMA has a hard enough time dealing with the usual clichés and misconceptions about the sport, this wasn't needed. Do I think he deserved to be fired over the comment? No, not necessarily. Am I surprised that Dana did it? Not in the slightest.

People need to realize that while weed is probably the least dangerous drug out there, it will never be legalized. However, the UFC and the NSAC need to realize that people's wins shouldn't be overturned if they test positive for pot because it's not a steroid.

I find it odd that so many fighters use Marijuana, get caught (or test positive) & get fired, disqualified etc....

The 1st time I heard this I though, "Why would a guy use or take Marijuana? Surely that's going to impair his performance some how. If anything slow him down"

To me it's actually one of the last drugs/supplements/medication you'd want to be taking if you were a fighter or any athlete that demands explosive power & excellent reflexes.

What I'm saying is, it's pretty harsh & needs to be looked at. Suspending an athlete for further tests & for his own safety may be, but not firing him & making him look like a juice junkie.

So many fighters abusing TRT & countless types steroids or GH. Basically cheating. They get a ban or a slap on the wrist & then they're fighting again in a few months or within a year! Surely this is more dangerous to other fighters than a guy who needs Marijuana to chill or help with a disorder of some description.

Riddle is a great fighter & I hope he goes from strength to strength. May be win a title or two elsewhere & get in to the top 3-5 contenders over all at Welterweight. It would certainly open Dana eyes & possibly make him eat humble pie somewhere down the road...... ok, may be not.

I disagree in some aspects about weed being performance enhancing as far as if you were high while fighting but metabolites being in your system from you smoking it weeks beforehand is a ******* crazy reason to punish guys. But it's no secret that those are the rules so if you get caught then it's pointless spouting why it shouldn't be a rule. It is. You ****** up. Deal with it.


He has a very good point about Herman although Herman is pretty entertaining and is good to put against prospects etc so the juice seems pretty much worth the squeeze.. but if you're going to be dominant & relatively boring like Riddle then don't be dumb enough to get caught with weed in your system and then whine about how the UFC are only keeping "sluggers". Guess what, Matt? Those sluggers aren't getting busted twice every 3 fights.
