For all his problems with PEDs, anyone that thinks Josh Barnett is only the #12 ranked heavyweight on the planet is smoking that good herbal remedy.  I have him ranked at #3, for example.
Babyface is 26-5, with three of those losses to Crocop.  Check out the dudes he's fought and defeated on a consistent basis and then explain how someone like Brett Rogers can be ranked ahead of him.
I'm not a huge Barnett fan necessarily but credit where credit's due . . .
Babyface.

Not so fast

You're talking about a guy that's been in the game for 13 years and yet hasn't fought a top-ranked heavyweight since 2006 when he split a pair with Big Nog. This is a guy that lost his chance to fight Fedor due to a third failed drug test - the result of which is that he won't be getting another shot at a top heavyweight any time soon. Go ahead and call him #3. I call him a dead end.

I still hold out some hope for a late resurgence in Barnett's career, but the drug test failures, the mediocre opposition as of late... and I'm not sure.

Never thought too much about Barnett. He's a very good offensive fighter, but tends to wither under pressure (and Cro Cop strikes). Like Raray said, he hasn't been active against top heavyweights in some time, and even when he was, who does he have a meaningful win over in the last five years? Gilbert Yvel?

Please. He's lucky he gets a spot in the top ten at all as far as I'm concerned.

It's probably time to get Fedor out of the top 5. Back to back losses and hasn't won a fight since 2009. If he retires that it's for him entirely in the rankings.

He also just isn't a modern-sized HW. The guy is 5'11" and an unsculpted 230lbs. He could definitely cut to 205lbs and if he dieted he could probably go all the way down to 185lbs.

I think he should take a shot at LW before retiring.

LW = 155, LHW = 205

Even if Fedor can make 205, you'll never see it happen.

Fedor is a very soft 230 at least recently, he use to be a big man. But if he was doing some serious training he could make 205 easy with the mass he has now. He just doesn't look like he trains very hard anymore.

Oh, But I really hope he doesn't retire. LHW would be perfect for him

He isn't in my top 10... How long has it been since he has fought a guy who was even top 15? Having him at 3 is as crazy as having Overeem top 5... I took Big Nog off of my top ten for now, it will be one year inactive later this month and he still has no fight lined up.

Barnett isn't in my top 10 either. If he makes it to the Finals I might consider moving him to the no.10 spot.

Barnett has a lot to prove he can't seem to stay active enough to stay in a top 10 list...If he gets by Rogers he'll be around 8-10 in my rankings

Close

I've got Josh #11 now. Despite the nature of the fight, Werdum's solid top 10 ranking was more than enough to justify Overeem moving into the top 5.

When I update Overeem and Werdum will be dropping and like I had said Barnett will move pretty high into the top 10 now!

I have Josh at 9.  There just simply isn't the talent right now between 11-20 to really justify him not being top10 at the moment.  I agree with @Gregory's hope.  I think he has a run left in him for sure.  I can't believe Fedor is still in some people's top10 at the moment.  I don't think he'll ever be a top HW fighter again... he had his time though, no doubting that.
