But how great did Ryan Bader look? He was much bigger than Rampage, and even though Rampage was out of shape...Bader outstruck him and took him down at will, GNP and transitioning. He landed some good leg kicks and some real hard right hands...let's also not forget he survived that HUGE PRIDE SLAM from Rampage and somehow didn't break his arm and die haha.

Anyway, he was impressive and beat a Legend handily. Looking forward to his next fight. Maybe Phil Davis.

Yeah agreed he looked sharp, he said in the post fight interview he's changed a lot of things since Tito, and it showed.

Bader looked good but I think this was more a case of Rampage looking bad in comparison. The Rampage that took the LHW title from Liddell and defended it against Dan Henderson would have eaten him alive IMO. I don't think Bader is a threat to take that belt anytime soon. They should put him against Machida next.

I like Bader, never really understood why, but i do. I agree with skelliher, I think it was more of Rampage not being in the best shape, but Bader did look improved in that fight. His landing on that slam from Rampage looked incredibly awkward too, that had to hurt.

I like Bader vs. Machida. Machida's takedown defense is ridiculous. If he can take Machida down, that proves how good his wrestling is. I think Machida would pick him apart on the feet though.

I like Bader/Bonnar. I always considered the 1st Forrest/Bonnar fight a very close fight that I personally thought Bonnar won and nothing either has done since has separated the 2 imo and with Forrest lately seeming somewhat disinterested, like Rampage, and coming off of a loss, the only other LHWs coming off of a win are Hendo (a level above), Nedkov, and Bonnar. This would replace the ideal Bader/Forrest matchup because of both having decision wins over a lethargic Rampage and being closer rankingswise.

i always thought that bonnar won that first fight. i believe i saw somewhere that bonnar has never been KO'd or submitted. just lost decsions or doctor stoppages.

Yeah, Bonnar's one tough dude to finish.  In my opinion he's got one of THE most underrated chins in MMA.  Don't think I've ever even really seen his name mentioned when looking at discussions on which fighters have the best chins in MMA.

Though, with that said, if Bonnar took the step up in competition I think there's a lot of guys who'd finish him.  That includes Jon Jones who couldn't get it done the first time around.

I like Bader vs Bonnar because I actually think it'd be a very competitive fight that either guy can win, but I think Bader's way higher up in the rankings at this point and fighting Bonnar after beating Rampage is a huge step back.

Bader beats the piss out of Bonnar, and so does any other top twenty prospect.

@RWLawman I wouldn't say that. Forgetting about Mark Coleman, the only people he's lost to are the Polish Experiment (which he avenged), Lyoto Machida (via cut), Forrest twice (the good Forrest, not Forrest of now), Bones and Rashad.

So no, I don't think Bader would "beat the piss out of Bonnar." I think it'd be a close and tough fight though.

@krazyhopz I wouldn't pick Bader over Machida unless I'm losing my sanity.
