TJ Waldburger is an American welterweight fighter currently signed to the UFC. He is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and trains out of Grapplers Lair in Temple, Texas. He has previously fought for HDNet Fights and Shark Fights where he was the welterweight chamopion. He has notable wins over Brian Foster, Pete Spratt, Pat Healy, David Mitchell and Nick Cantone. Of his sixteen career wins, fourteen have been finishes including thirteen submissions. TJ has never been submitted. He has also won the UFC "Submission of the Night" bonus two times.

Waldburger began training in martial arts in his youth and began his MMA career while still in high school. After a 3-0 amateur career, he would make hi professional debut in 2005. He would lose his first fight, but won a rematch of the same opponent three months later by submission. In his first four years, he would compile a 10-5 record that included wins over UFC veterans Brian Foster and Pete Spratt. He would be given a shot at the Shark Fights welterweight title in 2009 and was able to win it with a first round submission. He would defend the title once, this time by winning a decision over Pat Healy.

In late 2010, TJ would be picked up by the UFC. He would make his promotional debut against David Mitchell at UFC Fight Night 22 and would walk away with a unanimous decision win. After an injury sidlined him for six months, he took on Johny Hendricks at UFC Fight Night 24, but would lose by TKO. He would bounce back with a "Submission of the Night" victory over Mike Stumpf. At UFC on FX 2 in Sydney, Australia, he was able to submit Jake Hecht with an armbar in the first minute of the fight. Three months later, he would lose a unanimous decision to Brian Ebersole. He would earn another "Submission of the Night" bonus when he defeated Nick Cantone at The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale. At UFC 166, he would be knocked out by Adlan Amagov, moving his overall UFC record to 4-3. He next took on Mike Pyle at UFC 170. His repeated takedown attempts were stuffed throughout the fight and Pyle showed superior striking resulting in a third round TKO loss for TJ and his third loss in his last four UFC fights.
