Sodiq Olamide Yusuff was born in Lagos, Nigeria and moved to the United States with his mother and brother at the age of nine. Yusuff was drawn to combat sports through superhero movies and anime, and he starting telling others that he aspired to fight in the UFC while he was in middle school. Yusuff briefly attended Bowie State University before dropping out to train MMA full time. Yusuff lives in Temple Hills, Maryland and trains at Team Lloyd Irvin. He would defeat Mike Davis (who would himself enter the UFC later on) via unanimous decision to earn a UFC contract.
