Decent fight, but not exactly a great main event, especially on top of a weak card like this. What is weird is that there will be two great champions in the cage NOT fighting (Shevshenko and Figueiredo cornering their sister/brother). I hope some of these fights are good...

Arvovski has the right idea for the over 40 club. Keep taking as low level fights as you can and cash as many win bonuses as you can, while you can. Don't be Alister Overeem and try to go on a title run at 40 something. And yeah yeah it's heavyweight, and look at Glover, but for every case like his there's someone getting sadly KOed a few times before getting cut because ohhhhhhh I still got it I feel better than when I was 25 blah blah blah. He did fight Aspinall which kinda pokes a hole in it but he learned his lesson from that one. 


And no disrespect to Collier he's been looking good lately and I woulda easily taken him over Tafa, but Arvloski should win pretty easily.

Idk I think collier should actually give him a somewhat difficult fight. Not sure how arlovski cardio will looks on short notice either. Will probably be fine but you never know

Yeah, I mean out of the 4-5 low tier heavyweights he's fought recently, Collier is the one I'd give the best chance too, from a pre fight basis. Maybe Boser because he was a lot more hyped at the time before not really panning out. 

But still I think Arvloski should get it done. I can see a senario where like a awkward heavyweight scramble could lead to Collier landing on top in half gaurd to win him a round or 2. But most likely it stays on the feet 80%+ of the fight and Arvloski lands like 50-100% more than Collier

I would actually favor collier on the feet in terms of sheer volume. At 4 HW fights I think he averages over 8 strikes landed per minute, which is just crazy. If he implements his ground game jt could get interesting too

I mean.... yeah but his last 3 we're pretty notoriously hittable guys, and then the Aspinall fight was only like a minute to not skew it the other way. It probably won't be 50-100% more now I think about it but I do think he would out volume him, arvolski will be much less in the pocket accepting getting hit than guys like Felipe or Foot out the door Villante.

 Plus probably the more meaningful shots, Felipe got outvolumed by Collier but won I assume based on more meaningful shots (I thought Collier won still tho). And then on the flip side arvloski got outvolumed by Vanderaa but got the win due to the better shots (deserved)

Idk I'm somewhat confident in Arvloski but Collier has been consistently exceeding his expectations for the HW run. At least for me.

Yeah I’m with you on that. My initial lean when the fight first got announced was arlovski but I’m gonna have to watch tape because I think it’s a pretty close fight

Arlovski making the unranked *probably shouldnt be in the UFC* division look like sparring partners might be my favorite ongoing storyline in the UFC right now. I hope it never ends. Just let him teach point-striking and footwork clinics to these no skill brawlers who have barbed wire tattoos.

@Erison I agree Arlovski 5.0 or whatever is just a reliable decision machine, but it's awesome. I've bet Arlovski ML or by Dec. in his last three so I love watching him fight. I think he should be ranked above Walt Harris at this point too.

@ Erison it's a fair point. Really shows how dag-infested and flyblown the HW tail truly is. It's basically just composed of obese middle-aged fat blokes with pink faces who have about enough skill and cardio to take out their wives and kids after walking home from the AA meeting and that's about it.
