No, Stephen, that IS 1 of the most brutal KO's of all time!
Certainly the last 20 years.
Khan was so dumb taking that fight, some say brave I say dumb!  He is really a lightweight, Canelo a Middleweight. Plus the glass jaw!!!
Was always gonna end in that way.
I always thought that Canelo kneeling over Khan's lifeless body crossing himself was a striking image! Like Canelo was reading him the last rights!!!

@Mikey1903

It's certainly one of the most brutal KO's but I played it down a bit as what counts as a "brutal" KO is up for discussion. The absolute worst KO I've ever seen is when Emile Griffith KO'd Benny "The Kid" Paret in their 3rd fight in 1962 but I won't post that out of respect for Paret as he died from that KO. I remember my grandad showing me that when I first started watching boxing at about 7 or 8. It's ******* insane how tough the sport used to be!

Anyway, I'm currently on YouTube desperately trying to find a video I saw a while back of a brutal KO. I can't remember who the boxers were but I'm pretty sure they said in the video it was for a British title or something like that and the footage looked kinda grainy, like late 80's early 90's grainy. Basically, it was a left hook that spun the guy a full 180 and he landed chest first across the 2nd rope with his arms hanging lifelessly out of the ring. I just randomly stubbled across it a but now I cant find it.

In the meantime, I hereby declare this the brutal boxing KO thread!

Also, yeah I also remember finding out about Griffith Paret when I was young. The referee was a huge part of the blame for that. He basically let Griffith tee off on Parets unconscious body as it was tied up in the ropes for WAY too many shots.

No that video isn't it but I haven't seen that one before so thanks for sharing!

No, I never really liked him. No real reason behind it, he's just one of those boxers I just randomly dislike. There's a few like that. I'm not really a fan of Anthony Joshua but that's simply because of the way he conducts himself in interviews. You can tell he's got a massive ego (I don't mind that at all, I'd have a massive ego if I were a 2 time world champion) but that the same time, he still plays the whole "staying humble" card. You're either an egotist or your humble, you can't have it both ways AJ!

I've never really liked Vasiliy Lomachenko either. I appreciate that he's one of the best P4P guys but I just don't like him that much. Absolute no reason whatsoever, I just don't really like him.

Yeah, I can love or hate boxers for weird or non-existent reasons sometimes!

I don't think that is the one either as that primarily what I know Tommy Morrison for as well as Rocky (No disrespect to Tommy but that's just how it is as he was before my time). I say I "don't think" that's the one as my memory is kinda bad as I saw the video about a year ago and it was only a short video so it might be. One of those I'll know for sure if I see it again ones. Anyway, thanks for trying and it's always good to see brutal KO's!

Well, I haven't found the original video but I found this compilation that features it! Art Stacey VS Paul Gearon (I'm not gonna pretend I've heard of either of them!) It's the one at 1:58 of this video but the whole video is worth a watch as there are some gems on it!

I've just checked those guys on BoxRec and it was Paul Gearon who got KO'd. Turned out to be his only pro fight.

Art Stacey BoxRec

Paul Gearon BoxRec

Judging by their records, I've no idea where I got the idea of it being for a belt from, I must've got it muddled with another one. Like I said, my memory's kinda hazy on it.

After looking over their records, my take away from it is this. Art Stacey was a typical Cruiserweight journeyman and Paul Gearon was a one and done boxer who wisely decided it was best to stick to the day job.
