"KURZHAAR - Tomorrow Never Comes Until It's Too Late"
https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/why-stephen-king-hated-stanley-kubrick-the-shining/ this is a good read, sums it up pretty well. I think King's criticism of the adaptation having no heart and being cold is strange, because that's exactly what Kubrick was going for - not just in The Shining, either. a great example is 2001 a space odyssey. it's distant and heartless by design, and to great effect imo
Kubrick made a clockwork orange, he could commit genocide for all i care i'd still love that man

A brilliant filmmaker, no doubt, but his brilliance came with a perfectionism that was absolutely toxic. The **** he did to Shelly Duvall was legit traumatizing.
Favorite Kubrick film is Full Metal Jacket

I think a clockwork orange is a very well made movie (obviously, it's Kubrick) and has some very interesting ideas, but to my personal taste, it's not up there in his filmography. my personal favorites are The Shining and Barry Lyndon
Alexander de large clears, im just glad he hasn't got the sigma treatment like Bateman and the Joker.

I can see where he is coming from. Stephen writes his novels with a sense of character, thrills and even a bit of fun. Kubrick is cold, spiteful and occasionally satirical. It’s just a matter of two smart minds on polar opposite spectrums.
That being said, The Shining is a good movie.

Kubrick's conduct aside, if you haven't seen Paths of Glory, do so when you get a chance. That's my favorite of his, for reasons that will become obvious. Stunning piece of work.

Can anyone, preferably the admin, introduce my wife to how the betting system around here works, as well as the general layout? I asked Stephen first since he’s the nicest guy on the site (Cheeseball is a close second) but any help would be appreciated. I don’t really use the site for anything aside from occasional predictions and being an intolerable *******.
