Matt Bessette, DEC
This fight is to award Matt Bessette with the Belt he never lost. He vacated the belt when he had his 2 fight stint in the UFC (lost to Enrique Barzola & Steven Peterson). I'm not completely counting out Mr. Cheeks, cos it is a fight after all, & anything can and will happen. But this is all about Bessette here. I don't even think Cheeks is a deserving opponent for a title shot. His best win is....... Well I don't know what it is. He's fought tough guys, but he lost them all. Bessette has the advantage almost everywhere, except for maybe speed. But, I also thought Maycee Barber had the edge on Roxie Modaferri almost everywhere tooo. Annnd boy did I fudge that up.
Rebello vs. Gordon
Greg Rebello, DEC
Greg Rebello is one of those guys that I kinda feel bad for. Pity may be a better word. He ALWAYS looks good against the guys HE SHOULD BEAT. But as soon as the spotlight and the big show lights are shining, he just doesn't perform. And I'm not talking about guys that are step-up fights. They'll still fall under the "guys he should beat" category, but he just finds a way to beat himself when the bright lights are shining. The best example of this are his 2 fights on the Contender Series. Both Zu Anyanwu & Josh Parisian shoulda both been beatable opponents for Rebello..... But he got KO'd by both of them. I know that the Heavyweight division is the most forgiving of all the weight classes when it comes to age, but at nearly 38 years old and 34 total fights, I hate to say it, but I think Rebello finishes out his career as a regional can-crushing monster...
Gotti III vs. Lloreda
John Gotti III, DEC
John Gotti III is probably who I'd be most excited to see. So far, so good. If he keeps progressing forward like he has, the future is super bright and probably future Contender as well.

Johnny Lopez, DEC
I'm reeeaally trying NOT to be biased towards the the hometown kid In Blaine Shutt. He's nice to watch on the ground, I believe he's finished all his wins by Submission. I'd give Shutt the edge on the ground. He's also got size and youth on his side as well, but that won't win him the fight. And the fights start's on the feet, do he's gotta find a way to get Lopez to the ground. And again, trying to be unbiased. Lopez as an overall package, is a much better fighter. "Overall". And I'm sure he's got the tools needed to outpoint Shutt on a round to round basis.

Marisa Messer-Belenchia, SUB, R2
Gotta love CES... They had these 2 ladies square off on one of their boxing cards last year. (I believe the Chad Dawson card) so these ladies are already comfy w/ each other. Which unfortunately for Owen, this is now an MMA fight, and Messer-Belenchia has more tools to attack her with. And she's got more submission wins than KO's. That stinks for her.
