Pena vs. Peterson
Steven Peterson, TKO, R1
I just....for the life of me....can't see how Pena makes FW. I'm shocked he even makes LW let alone FW. Even if he does make the weight, he'll be dehydrated AF and destined to be KO'd. You also have to question his mental state. He loses a split to Trizano and this compelled him to drop a weight class?! Jesus, VBR.

How on earth would Pettis beat Maia one of the best mma grapplers of all time against a guy who's struggled against anyone that wants to wrestle lol

Pettis took this fight because he doesnt want to defend takedowns and Thompson can be outpointed in mma striking. Hes not someone that will put a pace on Pettis. I dont love the fight but he has nothing to lose here and winning at welterweight will move him up the rankings at lightweight. People soon forget losses after good fights and good wins. Both him and Thompson are a bit stuck in their division now but want to compete

Predictions: 1 of 3 Winners, 1 Perfect, 75 Points   |   Tied for 2127th

Thompson vs. Pettis
Stephen Thompson, DEC
The first round might be interesting, and then I suspect my roommates will find me asleep with my laptop still open and Stephen Thompson winning a decision.

Blaydes vs. Willis
Curtis Blaydes, DEC
I personally think Willis is far too overconfident in his abilities. Beating a mentally checked out Mark Hunt is not that impressive now. Blaydes is far hungrier and not entirely apathetic about re-asserting his place in the top 5, and if everything goes right for him, I see him grinding out Willis with maybe a late finish.

Formiga vs. Figueiredo
Deiveson Figueiredo, TKO, R2
Nothing could have been better for Formigas resurgence other than beating a now-irrelevant Sergio Pettis. I honestly did not expect him to win that and he probably realizes now is his only chance at UFC gold before either becoming a bantamweight or joining ONE or Combate. Either way, this is his best shot, but I don't see it. I'm assuming Figueiredo will at some point take his head off in the 2nd or 3rd round and then call out everyone's favorite ex-Olympian.

I can't believe this main event is happening.  Like, what is the point? Wouldn't 99.99% of people rather see Pettis fight McGregor, Iaquinta, Lee, Felder, Alexander Hernandez...?

Shelton is a gamer. Relentless with the takedown. He has been on the bad end of some split decisions. Octagon jeeters could be an issue for Espinosa.

I expect Pena to make weight just fine and still get his butt-whooped. Peterson is rough around the edges but has everything that exposed Pena.

Have to agree with Bruce. Off the violent bob train after his last performance. If Peterson fights well, he'll romp it in.

How the hell is Pena going to make 145? He's taller and longer than the heavyweight champ!

Formiga vs. Figueiredo
Deiveson Figueiredo, TKO, R2
Formiga adjusted his style recently to decision oriented one (UFC 229 Pettis). With that said, there are still holes in his striking defence. I wonder if Figueiredo will try to take him down or will keep distance and try to counter. Wrestling will be very important factor in that fight. I also think that Figueiredo might mix some low kicks.
