My opinion is that he should retire,

I think Le will brutally beat him in their matchup.

New breed MMA is too much for him.

Just my opinion, but let the down thumbs come.

Lol, no everybody is entitles to their opinion. He really should retire. But I love watching him fight still win or lose. I think he can beat Cung. After about a year and a half without a fight I think ring rust will play a huge factor. And Wanderlei is a dangerous guy as it, I dont think hes the guy you wanna fight after a 16-17 months layoff.

Maybe you're right,

I'm not really a Wandy fan, but I wouldn't mind seeing him get a win as long as Le can bounce back.

Wandy is a great fighter, an all time great. He's just too old and he's had too many injuries and wars at this point. He has always been one of my favorite fighters, he fights solely for the fans, and win or lose he just tries to entertain us. After the decision loss to Franklin (who as some members of this site are well aware, I don't like, and when fighters that I like lose, I get unhappy, as everyone on this site probably knows) it brought a big smile to my face when Wandy was screaming "This is my victory!!!"

I don't understand disliking him. He only cares about the fans, and I have never seen a fighter care about them more than he does.

@minotauro I agree. Ive always considered Wandy my favorite. But meeting him in Toronto was definately a highlight moment for me. He had like a 15 min conversation with me. He is a guy who loves his fans. And I respect him for that 1!

His style doesn't suit his age/experiance. I'd love to see old Wand but now he should concentrate on training fighters as I'm sure he has a lot of knowledge in him

I think if he changed his approach to fighting drastically he could still have success. He gave Bisping a good wupping, and Bisping does not suck

I love Wanderlei.  He is one of the best light heavyweights ever, with one of the most exciting fighting styles in the history of the sport.

With that said, that fighting style hasn't done his brain any favors.  I ageee with xbassistdoodx.  Wand should retire.  He'll probably get KO'd by Cung.

he's one of my all time favorites.  I do think he should hang them up though after Cung Le even if he wins and I think he will.  Only way he could keep going is if he tried more to submit people because he does have that black belt in bjj. we saw him try to finish Bisping in a guillotine, but we all know he wants to knock people into last year. Also, even though he never held a UFC belt, I believe he belongs in the HOF.  He's too much of a fan  favorite to deny him that.

He loves the UFC but I think he loves fighting more so if/when he loses and Dana forces him to retire he will head back to Japan and have a Saku type career

Wanderlei's a legend, he's been through some wars. Can't see how you can hate the guy, it seems like he's a good guy and really loves his fans.
