Bonnar is not a great fighter. He's pretty run of the mill actually, but nobody ever calls him one of the greatest ever the way they do Tito. Tito's "success" is due entirely to the fact that he was fortunate to have started at a time when there were lots of easy fight to be had. When he was forced to compete against truly great fighters like Liddel and Couture he got stomped. How has his career been lately? He has one victory agaisnt a middleweight amongst a plethora of ass whoopings. Huh.

I hate giving credit to the guy, but he did beat Guy Mezger, Wandy, Vladdy in his prime, Vitor, Forrest, and almost murdered Evan Tanner before the desert could.

If Frank Shamrock didn't randomly decide to stop fighting full time Tito would have never had the belt to begin with, so there's that.

if Tito beats Bonnar I will eat my words. Tito is done. Not even Bonnar will have a problem wrecking him.  I'll AV bet on it.

@Ben I know your trying to down play Tito, but come on man at least mention some of his good wins. Like he beat Wanderlei, Vitor and Forrest when he was in his prime. Yea Tito not the greatest ever, but he was legit top 10 guy for a long while.

"He has one victory agaisnt a middleweight amongst a plethora of ass whoopings. Huh."

He was also in his late 30's, ya know when most fighters are well past their prime and near retirement and he was losing to elite guys, he even managed to beat Bader. And that MW was still a Bellator champ and most people thought he was going to wreck Tito but now that Tito completely clowned him they want to act like it means nothing.

Also Forrest Griffin, Guy Mezger, Wandy, Kondo, Tanner, Matyushenko and Vitor were all top fighters when Tito beat them.

He was a legit top ten for most of his career. He did beat Wanderlei, he did beat Vitor, he did beat Forrest once, maybe even twice. Tito Ortiz used to be a nasty fighter. All im saying is "one of the greatest"???? NAAAAAAAAAH

By that logic Diego Sanchez is one of the greatest since he beat guys like Nick Diaz and Karo Parisyan when they were top fighters.

Thing is though Diego did not reign with the Belt and beat not only a top 10 if not top 5 guy at the time for the belt but then defend it against two legit contenders and few scrubs. He then got another title shot that was well earned by beating two top guys at the time  in Vitor and Forrest Griffin.

That's true Frank, I can't argue that. Prime Tito was better than I was making him sound. I still say Bonnar wins though.

I can't argue that I am not leaning your way on this fight. Even though I picked Coleman over Bonnar when Coleman was even older then Tito is now. I still have a feeling that Bonnar will win the more I think about it. Tito has more or less completely lost his wrestling which Coleman seem to always have even when older. Tito hands are better then they have been and he has power now, but Bonnar chin is ridiculous. Bonnar is def the better striker overall. I think Bonnar might just out strike Tito to victory. I think this might be a bad match-up for Tito. Even if Tito get's him down bonnar no slouch at grappling and is huge with good stamina.

It will probably be an entertaining fight, and it will be on Spike, so I won't be paying anything extra for it. A healthy Tito puts a beating on Bonnar, I think. And Bonnar can take enough of a beating that it should be a fun fight.

As for people suggesting the Bader win was fluky, perhaps. But Tito had the technique to pull it off. And he was probably and angle adjustment and leg grab away from submitting Machida with a triangle. Point being, Tito is a dangerous fight for most people. He has some limitations with his age and injuries now, but if he is healthy, I don't see Bonnar winning this.

@ben. I will take the av bet. Av can't be racist, sexist, ****phobic, ****ographic or violate this site's policy. Also, if Bonnar tests hot and wins, we treat it as a draw and no av change.

If bonnar tests hot we treat it as a draw, but if Tito backs out within a month of the fight we treat it as a forfeit.

Deal?

That sounds like a great bet considering Bellator and their indian casinos will never test Bonnar.

Is this a real fight now or still just ******** rumors. Cause I would be shocked if Bonnar went to Bellator. and frontrowbrians a tool.

Umm, ok on the forfeit, I guess, but if Bonnar pulls out, it's a forfeit win for Tito too? In the event Tito fails a drug screen, we can say draw as well.

Let's do 1 month on the av bet?

@curt Bonnar officially signed with Bellator today. This seems like something that is actually going to happen. Bellator and Scott Coker bring us the super fights Dana White is afraid to.
