It was legal to eat for hundreds of years until 1985 in the US (still is in many countries). In a 10 year stretch ending about 07 they closed down all horse slaughterhouses in the US and then due to horse overpopulation, about 6 months ago, slaughterhouses became legal again and we are back choppin them Seabiscuits up. It's only a matter of time until Secretariat is on my plate once again.

I want to try it but it seems very difficult to get over here- not due to legality just to their seemingly being no market for it.
