Magomed Sultanakhmedov Wiki

Magomed Bazayevich Sultanakhmedov is a Russian mixed martial artist who competes in the middleweight division.

Between April 2003 and 2006, Sultanakhmedov compiled a record of 5-2 in Russian promotions such as the International Absolute Fighting Council (IAFC) and the West Siberian Fighting Championship (WSFC). He defeated both inexperienced (Ali Mamaev, Andrei Andreev) and experienced (Azat Askerov, Vladimir Yushko) opponents, but also lost bouts to Alexander Shlemenko and Alexey Oleinik. Sultanakhmedov's only fight in 2007 was an appearance in the Hero's promotion in their 2007 Korea event, where he faced Eun Soo Lee. Lee had to cut 44 lbs. to make weight for the fight. During the bout, after dropping Lee with a low kick, Sultanakhmedov took the fight to the mat and effectively utilized ground-and-pound to achieve a TKO victory.

In 2008, Sultanakhmedov joined the Dream promotion to compete in their 2008 Middleweight Grand Prix, beginning at Dream 2. His opponent was the Croatian, Zelg Galesic, who was regarded as the more refined and powerful striker. Sultanakhmedov was defeated by armbar 100 seconds into the first round. Sultanakhmedov's only other fight in 2008 was against Bruni Carvalho in an IAFC event, where he overcame Carvalho by split decision.

After 2009, Sultanakhmedov competed soley for the M-1 Global organization. Appearing in the 2009 M-1 Global Challenge selection events, he lost his first match-up to Arthur Guseinov via unanimous decision. Sultanakhmedov went on to win his next four selection events (three by KO or TKO). The last of these, against Dmitry Samoilov, was a second round knockout at the M-1 Challenge 2009 Final. In 2010, Sultanakhmedov competed in the M-1 Global Eastern European Middleweight tournament, where he went undefeated. He achieved victories over both Pavel Kusch and Dibir Zagirov via knockout, which took him into the final where he faced Alexei Belyaev. Sultanakhmedov took the Eastern European Middleweight Championship with a TKO (Punches) defeat of Belyaev. In his next bout, Sultanakhmedov fought the M-1 Global Western European Middleweight champion Rafal Moks for the M-1 Global Middleweight title. The fight took place in Moscow on December 10, 2010, at the M-1 Challenge XXII event. Sultanakhmedov lost the fight via first round heel hook.
